The Monday Mention: September 29th, 2025

Welcome to "The Monday Mention", a weekly feature where I highlight several local businesses in a Dallas/Fort Worth neighborhood or shopping center. There are tons of great restaurants, coffee spots and businesses around the metroplex, so I'll spend some time each week visiting these neighborhoods, interviewing managers and business owners and sharing my favorite experiences in the form of "mentions".

My fourth Monday Mention takes us to Mockingbird Station, at the corner of Mockingbird and Central Expressway near SMU. I feel like Mockingbird Station is a Dallas location that is "iconically Dallas", due in large part to The Angelika Film Center & Cafe (also known as The Angelika). The Angelika has been around for over 25 years, and focuses on showing independent and specialty films along with classic movies as well. Currently, they are showing films such as, "One Battle After Another" and "Eleanor The Great". In October, they will be showing classics, such as, "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind", "The Thing", "Tremors" and "Little Shop Of Horrors". Mockingbird Station has great shops, restaurants and The Lofts At Mockingbird Station, which are luxury apartments providing residents with quick access to everything Dallas has to offer! This week, I decided to feature that apartment complex, along with two really great restaurants that are personal favorites of mine!

#1 The Finch

If you are looking for a fancy lunch spot to take a client or a dinner spot for a date night, The Finch is the place to go! I've been to The Finch a few times, and every time I've gone I've gotten something really good to eat. My personal favorite dish is the Short Rib. This meal includes the short rib, roasted poblano mac & cheese, ancho Chile demi-glace and tobacco onions. It's really good y'all!! I also love the Tzatziki & Spicy Feta "starter" and Chicken Fried Chicken. They have a brunch menu that includes Banana French Toast, Honey Stung Chicken & Waffles, Cowboy Queso and Donut Holes. They also serve Mimosas and Aperol Spritz as well! Brunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM - 3 PM. Their normal hours of operation are Monday - Thursday from 11 AM - 10 PM, Friday from 11 AM - 11 PM, Saturday from 10 AM - 11 PM and Sunday from 10 AM - 10 PM. When I visited today, my waiter mentioned that they are rolling out some new menu items soon, so stay tuned!!

#2 360 Brunch House

If you are looking for a great brunch spot in Dallas, look no further! 360 Brunch House offers incredible breakfast and brunch items, such as Breakfast Bowls, a variety of Pancakes, a variety of Benedicts, a variety of of French Toast offerings and fan favorites such as Chicken & Waffles, Smoked Salmon Platter, Morning After Tacos and their Breakfast Burrito. When I went to visit with the manager today, he mentioned that their best selling menu items are the Chicken & Waffles and the Lamp Chops & Waffles! I really love their Avocado Toast, which comes with two eggs, pickled red onions and crumbled panela cheese. For lunch, I also really like their street tacos and their sliders. I feel like this place is a bit of a hidden gem, but maybe after the word gets out here, it won't be for long! They close at 3 every weekday, and are open from 8 AM - 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Their Happy Hour specials include $5 orange mimosas, $7 flavored mimosas and a $7 classic margaritas. Their Happy Hours are every weekday from 11 AM - 3 PM.

#3 The Lofts At Mockingbird Station

As a Realtor® and Apartment Locator, this is the part of the job I really love - featuring and highlighting great resident options for those looking for apartments in the DFW Metroplex! I really love The Lofts At Mockingbird Station! I personally love mid-rise buildings and apartments that have shops and restaurants all around them. What I also love about these lofts is that the building is historic - It used to be the old Southwestern Bell Telephone building! They have 211 units, and 7 floors (including the basement, which is the parking garage). They offer one parking spot per resident in the garage, and they also offer a "reserved parking spot" for $125 a month additional to your rent. There are tons of places for guest to park as well. This building offers a gym, an aqua lounge and a pool on the rooftop, with two grills and fire pit. Full disclosure - they are doing some renovation work to the top deck and pool, so that won't be open until the summer of 2026. Currently, as of 9/25/25, they have no Studio Apartments available to rent. They have 1 Two-Bedroom Apartment available to rent, and it goes for $3,433 a month for a 13-month lease. Starting in October, they will have 6 One-Bedroom Apartments available, ranging from $2,000-$3,100 (including a split-level apartment). For more information on these apartments or these available units, send me a message or text me at 469-601-9272.

Thank you for following my Monday Mentions! Be on the lookout for more great restaurant recommendations and business highlights each week!
