Home Of The Week - Timeless Architecture Combined With A Renovated, Modern Design In Bluffview

Each week, I spend time preparing for this blog and home feature by studying the real estate market, searching for homes that I think would be interesting to highlight and communicating with the listing agents in advance to not only get their approval to showcase the property but gain access to the house to see it in person. Because I have to prepare a week or two in advance, sometimes the homes I intend to feature are no long actively for sale, but now under contract or even sold! The real estate market in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex is rapidly changing every week, so it's not a surprise when a great home that's priced well is no long available.

 

In the case of this home, 5040 Horseshoe Trail, I loved it from the minute I saw the pictures online, but by the time I got around to seeing the home in person, it was under contract! This house was on the market for about 2 weeks, so it appears the market is heating up a bit now that interest rates are dropping slightly. It's also most likely under contract because its just in incredible home and property! I got the chance to tour it yesterday, and it's a really special house tucked away on a quiet street in the Bluffview area. It was completely renovated in 2021 with designer Jennifer Littke, who is the owner of SETSTUDIO. The home feels very warm and luxurious at the same time. They did a really great job of retaining the essence of the original home (built in 1938) and updated it with modern, yet natural elements that make the home feel extremely sophisticated. Every inch of the house was thoughtfully re-designed and cared for!

 

The home offers 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, 2,670 square feet and a lot and backyard that includes .337 acres. When you walk inside, there is a den or study to the right and a living room that flows into a formal dining room and right into a second living space to the left. The half bathroom on the first floor is really cool, as it's kind of hidden underwear the stairs, and feels kind of like a speak-easy entrance. The kitchen is incredible - it's functional, modern and charming at the same time. The standout feature is the stone covered range over the gas grill.  I really love the mixture of the walnut cabinetry in the kitchen and the white oak cabinetry in the bathrooms. The library also includes custom walnut millwork. It really makes the spaces feel special and timeless.

 

The primary suite is off the living room on the first floor, and It has a "retreat" feeling to it. It's very spacious, has great wood flooring and French doors and windows that look out to a sitting area in the backyard with mature trees and incredible landscaping. Speaking of the backyard - wow!! There is a fire pit area to gather around, multiple sitting areas to relax in and a space that includes an outdoor dining table, an outdoor grill and a pizza oven. It's really special backyard - one that you need to see in person to really appreciate it. I can see why this home went under contract so quickly! In addition, the garage includes an electric car charger, which very few homes include! Other updates include a new stair railing, all new exterior paint, all new smooth interior wells that include a level 5 finish, a new roof and natural roman shades on all of the windows! The primary bathroom also includes new plumbing fixtures, tiles, countertops and lighting!
