335 SE County Road 3250, Kerens, Texas 75144
I recently got the chance to see this incredible lake house in person, and it did not disappoint! From the minute I saw the first photo online, I knew I wanted to go check it out and potentially feature it as my “Home of the Week”. This property is about an hour south of Dallas near Corsicana, and the drive really wasn’t that bad! I loaded up the car, got some snacks and made the trek! As I got closer, I came across some very rural county roads, and if you’ve ever seen the movie “Cast Away”, I’m pretty sure I passed the intersection that Tom Hanks stands in deciding which way to go in the end.
One of the things I love about lake homes like this is that everything is so quiet and tranquil. For me, it’s definitely a retreat from the craziness and noise of the city. The thing that makes this house unique and special is how modern and luxurious it is, combined with the A-frame structure that feels very vintage and “1950’s”. The entire house has been exquisitely designed, including concrete floors, natural stone countertops, designer lighting fixtures, metal exterior siding and much more! I personally loved the bathrooms, with the monochromatic color scheme, the grey concrete, the wood cabinetry and the marble countertops. I also love the main living room and kitchen, with the dramatic height of the ceilings, the view of the lake and the floor-to-ceilings windows, allowing for a ton of natural light.
The property also includes a separate guest cottage, with additional storage large enough for kayaks and lawn equipment. The cottage includes an additional bedroom, bathroom, and a beverage bar. There’s also a fun retro Smeg refrigerator. This refrigerator, and all of the furniture featured in the photos, is available for purchase. After touring the house and the guest cottage, I scoped out the firepit area, which is right near the water. You have great views of the Richland Chambers Reservoir, which is actually one of the largest lakes in Texas! Fun Fact: this house is only 15 minutes away from Benda Ranch, which is a free self-guided experience where you can go see zebras, camels, wildebeests and more exotic animals! Huge thank you to the Listing agent, Tommy Parker, for letting me go see this property in person. If you’d like more information or want to set up a private tour, reach out and let’s chat!
