Home Of The Week - A 5,000 Square Foot Home Full Of Character, Charm & Personality

6710 Meadowcreek Drive, Dallas, Texas 75254

What I love most about my weekly home feature series is when I find that special property that feels like it has a ton of stories to tell and has a ton of character and charm. When I saw this house hit the market for sale, I knew I had to go see it in person and tell its story!

The first thing you notice when you drive up to the house is how large the yards and lots are in the neighborhood and surrounding homes. 6710 Meadowcreek sits on over half an acre, but it honestly feels like it’s even bigger than that! Not only is the front yard expansive, but the back yard is also completely turfed and has a ton of room for gatherings and for the friends and family to play. In addition, there’s a large pool near the middle of the property, with the home surrounding the pool and making it feel very private and intimate. What I also love about this house is that it has a 178 square foot building near the back of the pool, which houses the pool equipment, some storage for pool toys and a bathroom and shower!

When I walked through the front door, I immediately felt the charm and history of the home. It was built in 1964 and has a ton of special details that separate it from all the newer homes that may lack character. From the original hardwood flooring to the unique doorknobs, to the special lighting fixtures, to the brick fireplace and bricks featured in the kitchen, the home feels warm and inviting! There are 5 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms, 4 spacious and separate living areas, a game room two dining spaces, which equates to a flexible and functional floorplan! The home offers almost 5,000 square feet, so there is definitely something for everyone in this house! The kitchen is probably my favorite part of the house. There is a gas cooktop, built-in KitchenAid refrigerator with paneling to match the cabinetry, double stainless-steel ovens and a large island! My second favorite thing about this home is the oversized rooms. The primary suite is downstairs, and there are three large bedrooms upstairs, each with its own bathroom. One of the largest bedrooms even has a balcony that overlooks the pool!

Huge thank you to Jill Wiese, the listing agent, who is with Ebby Halliday Real Estate. Her and Cindy O’Gorman were very nice to let me view the property and feature it as my “Home of the Week”. They were responsive, easy to work with and very collaborative. If someone is looking for a great home in North Dallas near the Tollway, 635 and Addison, look no further!! This house just hit the market, and I’d assume will attract a lot of attention and potential buyers.
