As we head into the new year, there are a record number of new construction homes available for home buyers looking for a home in 2025. According to the NTREIS, the North Texas real estate MLS, there are approx. 10,000 homes available for sale. That figure represents a 10% increase year over year and doesn’t even account for the number of homes available directly from home builders that aren’t listed on the MLS. Out of the 285 home builders in Dallas, D.R. Horton is the largest in Texas. They have approx. 460 homes available throughout North Texas, and currently I represent home buyers that are under contract on a home that’s under construction with D.R. Horton in Fate in the community of Williamsburg. I’ve been really impressed with D.R. Horton, and especially pleased with the community Sales Manager, Elaine!

For home buyers, there are tons of opportunities to find the perfect home, given the increased inventory on the market. In addition to that, buyers can qualify for a 4.5% mortgage interest rate, well below the current 30-year rate of 6.72% with standard conventional loans from Freddie Mac. To qualify for that special rate, buyers must use DHI Mortgage (a D.R. Horton affiliate) and close on a home on or before 12/31/24. That special interest rate will most likely extend into January, so please enquire for more information or to lock in a rate. On top of that, we are currently in the middle of the “Season of Surprises”, which is a holiday incentive program that D.R. Horton is currently running. When a home buyer purchases a new home, they can pull a holiday card from the tree and receive a dollar amount that they can use towards upgrades and options for their new home. My buyers picked a holiday card and received an additional $4,000 to be applied to special upgrades for their new house! They are going to get new gutters, window blinds, and a few other special touches to make their new home extra special! This promotion applies to the Dallas South communities only, and all promotions are subject to change depending on the construction stage of the home the buyers are interested in. D. R. Horton also offers up to $1,000 towards closing costs or design options for Military personnel, law enforcement, firefighters, healthcare professionals and educators.
